XStandard on Snow Leopard (OS X 10.6)

In Snow Leopard (OS X 10.6), Apple has made some significant changes that affect the way browser plug-ins interact with Safari. These changes are significant and because Apple did not give plug-in vendors much notice of these changes, it will take us some time to make the necessary adjustments.

Pre-release build

We have a pre-release version of XStandard that will work on Snow Leopard. Download the pre-release build. If you use this build, please send us feedback.

Alternative build

Alternatively, you can use a version that is slightly different than the official release. To make this build work on Snow Leopard, please follow these steps:

  1. Install XStandard Lite version 2.0.6.0 or XStandard Pro version 2.0.6.0. This build will work in Firefox without additional modifications. For Safari, please follow the following steps:
  2. Bring up the context menu for Safari. This can be done using Control+click or a right click on a 2-button mouse. In the context menu, select Options > Show in Finder as shown in the following screen shot.
